Export Support to CBH Wood Processing and Forestry Cluster Project Finalized
The REZ Agency from Zenica, with the support of USAID CCA, from May to September 2007 implemented a project to support CBH cluster members’ export promotion. The project comprised several segments: a survey of export potential survey, support in designing and developing web pages, designing and printing catalogs, and assistance in establishing contacts with potential partners.
Twenty regional cluster members that were interested in the project were surveyed for their export readiness. The survey consisted of fourteen criteria, following which the ten companies judged to have the greatest export potential were selected. The selected companies received help and support in developing web sites and catalogues.
Web sites are bilingual, with maps and product catalogues. Companies obtained printed and digital versions of their catalogs for promotional use at fairs and during direct contacts with potential business partners. Company export profiles were developed and sent to potential business partners’, Embassies, the Euro Info Center, and trade agencies.
The project followed an earlier one supporting 13 exporting companies, so that a total of 23 companies have now benefited from this REZ activity.
